The Newport Butterfly Zoo is a greenhouse enclosure that gives home to nearly a thousand butterflies, representing variations from all over the world. Because foreign species of butterflies cannot be introduced into the United States' delicate ecosystems, the zoo is one of the only places in the country to view such butterflies as Red Admirals, Question Marks and Mourning Cloaks. The butterfly house lies two miles west of Tiverton.
